This chair comes with an interesting story! It comes with its original tag, from Kroehler Manufacturing Company of Stratford, Ontario. Dated April 30, 1952. Quite the design for a Canadian made piece of this era.

We acquired the chair from a gentleman that inherited it from his aunt, who never married and owned and operated a hotel in Nova Scotia. She furnished the place with pieces she loved and to her own taste. Sounds like a great life to me!

This piece came to us in original condition and we went for a full gut job. We used some of our remaining “wisteria” fabric, which we thought suited the vintage of this chair. The legs are made from walnut and were restored as well.

It’s beautiful, comfortable and would make a great meditation chair.
