CA$1,000.00

This gorgeous, original piece has a wonderful Calgary story going back to it’s creating in the mid-1970s. Audrey Mabee is well known as an oil painter, but she first rose to popularity in Alberta as a weaver and textile artist

This piece of art was exhibited and sold at the Muttart Public Art Gallery, a not for profit institution established in 1977 on the top floor of the Central Library in downtown Calgary. The 1979 exhibition was a solo show of Audrey’s work entitled “Mostly White Weavings”.

This is the only known piece from this show to reemerge for sale and is currently on display at the Murphy’s showroom.

Audrey Mabee is presenting current work in a solo exhibition April 13-30th at Gibson Fine Art.
