ITEM DETAILS

Date:  The Søborg Chair was introduced in 1952

Designer:  Børge Mogensen

Maker:  Søborg Møbler

The Model 122 Chair, aka the "Shell Chair," is a uniquely designed dining chair with a generous, wider seat and back, beautiful joints, and made from two types of wood.  It really stands out.  The seat and back are teak. The frame was available in solid beech, oak or teak; I'm not sure which the frame is in this case. The contours of the seats and backs make these chairs exceptionally comfortable.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition.  Good with visible wear, minor flaws and some repairs needed to reinforce the joints.  They remain fully functional, but shows sign of age through scuffs, dings, faded finishes, and visible repairs to the legs via bracket placement.  They have been priced to reflect their condition.  With a little love, these chairs would be priceless.
