TIDBITS

Hyalyn Pottery was founded in 1947 in North Carolina.  Hyalyn pieces often showed the influence of Charles and Ray Eames and other designers of the Mid-Century Modern period.  The owner, H. Leslie Moody, focused on formulating the many glazes used on the pottery and many pieces were designed by his wife, Frances Moody.  The name Hyalyn is derived from the definition of "Hyaline". Hyaline simply means a translucent glass-like substance.  Hyalyn pieces are sought after for their style, technique, and finished product.  The yellow vase is marked “Hyalyn #608” to the underside and has the most charming handle flourishes and ringed collar detailing.

The vintage pedestal planter is one off the best known signature shapes offered by Royal Windsor.  This piece features a yellow and brown exterior with a white speckled finish, yellow interior, and a glossy glaze. It is marked “Royal Windsor” to the underside.

CONDITION

Both in excellent display condition with no cracks or chips.  Minor markings to the inside, typical of use.
