From the collections of Georg Jensen Inc, we present a 50-piece set of Prism matte finish, stainless steel flatware.  This set represents the skill and genius of Mr. Jensen, one of the greatest MCM silver craftsmen of his time.  All fashioned in the softly gleaming silver, which is so characteristic of the Georg Jensen flatware collection.  Its beauty is best defined in the designer’s own words when he said his silver is meant to suggest “moonlight on the water.”

Georg Jensen started silversmithy in Copenhagen and quickly became known for his designs reflecting the beauty and simplicity of the Danish arts and crafts movement.  As one of the company brochures shared, when describing Georg Jensen flatware, they are “Gifts that are the heirlooms of the future.”

He thought of dining as a sacred ritual through which family members could share nourishment and renew bonds.  For him, the table was a symbol of home and family, and he believed that beautiful flatware could enhance people’s lives by making dining a more pleasurable experience.  Therefore, he designed flatware for everyday use that was functional and aesthetically pleasing.

All pieces are stamped” Georg Jensen SS Denmark.”
