Charming set of tumblers featuring the gold Antigua pattern.
From the 1930’s-1970’s, Culver Glass Company signed their glassware with “Culver, Ltd.’ in script. After copyright implementation, the glasses were then inscribed with the circled C, alongside the Culver, Ltd. as shown in this set. Reproductions, and later editions, do not have the “Ltd.” and have “Culver” in block letters instead of cursive.
Culver Glass Company was famous for their stunning decorative glassware in 22-karat gold. In the late 1950’s, Culver started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. Fun fact: the super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today.
Good – no chips, cracks or cloudiness. This set is typical for items of this age. It would be amazing on display or for use (just be sure to hand wash these glasses in warm water and dry with a soft cloth to remove any water spots).
