"Macedonian Principium" by Diekman - Signed

300.00

ITEM DETAILS

Artist:  Diekman (Likely MCM architect Norman Diekman)

Date:  1964

Title:  Macedonian Principium

Medium:  Gouache, ink and acrylic paint mounted to paperboard

Signature:  Signed to the lower left

This striking original features an abstract geometric composition rendered in shades of blue, white, gold, black, and orange.  It is signed to the lower left and is titled to the verso, underneath the frame papering.  It is a vibrant and lovely piece presented in a geometric detailed black frame, under a light tawny matting with glass, and hanging hardware to the verso

TIDBIT:  Additionally, this painting and its sister piece “Resonance Of A Night City” were set aside with the book “Drawing Interior Architecture” by Norman Diekman and John Pile (a copy is to be included with the sale of the first or both pieces).  This little clue may mean the painting was created by Norman Diekman himself (a well-known US-based MCM furniture designer and architect).

CONDITION

Very good with slight discoloration to the composition, but nothing that truly deters from the work itself.  It has a new frame, glass, and matting; professionally done.

DIMENSIONS

Composition measures 20" W x 15" H
