ABOUT THE ARTIST: This artist has the most interesting background; although he signed his work Tullio, his real name was Charles Stutzer. He was known for his paintings of Jewish subjects, especially Hassidim. He suffered from a serious eye disease and nearly went blind. An operation in the late 1970s or early 1980s saved his sight and he was able to continue to paint.
