This painting depicts a colourful composition of a face, horse, and lobster rendered in chaotic brushstrokes and gradations. The artist’s signature is present to the lower left corner of the painting with an informative plaque to the bottom center margin of the matting. This piece is presented matted under glass and framed.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:  This artist has the most interesting background; although he signed his work Tullio, his real name was Charles Stutzer. He was known for his paintings of Jewish subjects, especially Hassidim. He suffered from a serious eye disease and nearly went blind. An operation in the late 1970s or early 1980s saved his sight and he was able to continue to paint.
